FIB - FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE BENICASSIM - 18-21 JULY

The festival that all of us here at Thisisvalencia.com love and worship, and base our entire annual leave around. 5 days of fun, Thursday to Sunday and the best mix of international indie, electro and indie pop. Tivlc´s very own Anita Darling has been venturing FIB for the past 9 years and swears that it is her highlight of the year. The organisation is impeccable, the music and line-up unbeatable, the food delicious, the setting, in the middle of the hills, but a stone throw from the beach idyllic - and even the campsites are nice! The weather is hot and musty and there is nothing better than watching your favourite bands and the sun setting behind the mountains surrounding you.

This year the line up is looking even better with people like Rudimental, Bastille (Lolita Devine is overly excited about this), The Killers, Artic Monkeys , Azealia Banks, and many many many more. Most of the bands that have played here have said its the best festival ever and the vibe is unbeatable.

Get your tickets with or without camping included online on www.fiberfib.com. If you're a Valencian resident make the most of the discount offered. If you are coming from abroad fly to Valencia, Reus or even Barcelona. Camp happily in the nearby camp sites or book a hotel in the surrounding towns.

Follow us on twitter for daily updates and news. Check out our FIB survival article here and get in touch if you need any help with accomodation or travel.

LOWCOST FESTIVAL BENIDORM. 26- 28 July 2013. Benidorm.

A few years ago somebody decideD to start a music festival that was economically accessible to anyone and they got it right: Low Cost Festival has been going on for a good few years now and people love it. This 3 day festival in July is the highlight of many of our good friends' summers.

This is very much a Spanish festival, with the odd international band thrown into the line up but Spanish indie and electro IS getting better and better which it makes it a festival very much worth going to. Portishead, Simian Mobile Disco, Love of a Lesbian, Miss Caffeina, Crystal Castles and Two Door Cinema Club are some of the headliners.

Benidorm is an hour and a half drive from Valencia or a half hour drive from Alicante. The camp site is full to bursting already but alternative accommodation is available in the surroundings. Check out their website that is updated daily, for more info, www.lowcostfestival.es

Jagermeister is one of the main sponsors - that's enough to show you that you'll have a great time!

ARENAL SOUND - BURRIANA, CASTELLON. 30 July-4 August- www.arenalsound.com/en

Even though you may have heard endless horrendous stories about this festival we have been 2 years in a row and will be going back as long as it is on. This festival held in August in Burriana, up the coast from Valencia, is actually ON the beach and if you are lucky enough to get one of the close camp sites, you do not even have to walk 3 minutes from your tent to be in the middle of the concerts.

The concerts are on from midday, all night and early morning and the line-up gets better every year. Imagine going to see Steve Aoki, and popping into the sea to cool down and then back to the main stage to see Lori Meyers. What more can you ask for?

Mobile phone charger huts in the camp sites, a swimming pool by the beach, a festival boat (check the website and their official Facebook for more info on how to get access to the boat), food and bars open all day and night, and traditional yummy Spanish tapas bars a 2 min walk away from the campsites if you fancy a proper sit down meal for a few euros. The campsites are cleverly laid out with shady areas and allocated toilets and showers per camp site.

The line up this year includes the epic Steve Aoki, Editors, The Kooks (Brighton boys woop woop!), The Drums, The Maccabees, The amazing Valencian born and bred Zombie Kids and many many more. We made the most of the djs as the vibe at the main stage at around 4am is absolutely amazing, being the party animal that we are, we have many happy memories of dancing around with a litre of vodka&lemon, a fan in our hands and fist pumping to the best electro djs around.

Thousands of happy, sun kissed people altogether by the beach. What more can you ask for? See you there!

Prices go up on the 9th June. Get your tickets here. www.arenalsound.com/en
